At Feelings and Healing, we understand that every participant's journey with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is unique. That's why we offer tailored Support Coordination services designed to meet the varying needs of NDIS participants. Our approach is to help individuals connect with the right supports, build independence, and confidently manage their NDIS plan. We offer services across three levels of support, each designed to suit different levels of complexity and participant needs.
Support Connection is ideal for individuals who are just beginning to navigate the NDIS and need help understanding their plan, connecting to providers, and accessing community resources. This level of support is designed to help participants get the most out of their NDIS plan by building their confidence and skills to manage it independently over time.
Coordination of Supports is for participants who require more comprehensive support to manage a combination of services and maintain a higher level of independence. At this level, our team helps you build the skills necessary to manage daily tasks, engage in community life, and maintain relationships, while ensuring your supports are coordinated effectively.
Specialist Support Coordination is designed for participants with complex situations who require higher-level, specialized support. This level is tailored for individuals facing additional challenges in managing their supports and navigating their NDIS plan. Our specialist support coordinators provide expert assistance to ensure that complex needs are met, and services are delivered consistently.
At Feelings and Healing, our team is dedicated to empowering you throughout your NDIS journey. We understand that every participant's needs are unique, and we offer personalized, compassionate support at every level.
At Feelings and Healing Pty Ltd, we are committed to helping NDIS participants access the resources and supports they need to lead fulfilling, independent lives.
Your NDIS Core Support budget is a key part of this, providing funding to assist with everyday activities and disability-related expenses. This budget is designed to help you meet daily needs, work toward your goals, and build foundational life skills.
It's important to remember that your Core Support budget can only be used for costs related to your disability. This means that while your Core Support can cover essential support needs, it cannot be used for general living expenses such as rent or groceries. However, the flexibility of your Core Support budget allows you to creatively tailor it to meet your evolving needs over time.
Your NDIS Core Support budget is divided into four categories, each focused on a different area of your life. These categories ensure that the support you receive is broad, allowing you to live as independently as possible.
Your Core Support Budget is the most flexible part of your NDIS plan. While the budget is split across different categories (Daily Activities, Consumables, Participation, and Transport), the NDIA allows you to move funds between these categories without needing to review your plan. This flexibility is designed to accommodate the changing nature of your needs as you progress toward greater independence.
For example, you may initially need assistance with daily tasks like eating, but over time, you might develop the skills to eat independently with the help of assistive tools.
If you no longer need a support worker for eating, you could move those funds to purchase specialized utensils through your Consumables budget.
This flexibility allows you to adjust your spending as needed, based on the evolving goals and requirements of your plan.
While your Core Support budget is highly flexible, certain areas are non-transferable, and you cannot redirect funds from these to other categories. These include:
In addition, the way your plan is managed will affect how flexible your Core Support budget can be. If some categories are self-managed and others are managed by NDIA or plan managers, you cannot move funds between these different management types.
It's important to keep track of your spending within your Core Support budget to avoid overspending or underspending. Overspending may occur if you need to move funds across categories or your needs change unexpectedly. Here's how to manage both:
On the other hand, underspending means you have unused funds in your Core Support budget. While less common, this can still happen, and it's crucial to monitor your spending carefully because any unused funds won't roll over to the next year. If you are underspending, it may indicate that your NDIS plan could be revised with a lower budget during your plan review. If this happens, talk with your plan manager to explore additional supports that could help you reach your goals.
